Every summer, we tend to incorporate "Disney" in our vacations; and, this year was no different! This summer's destination began with staying at Aulani - A Disney Resort, located in Ko Olina, Hawaii. We enjoyed all of the amenities that our resort had to offer, then ventured off to the JW Marriot Hotel, located in the property next to Aulani, and visited their Shark and Stingray Pond. We had an amazing time at our first luau, at Paradise Cove, which was a half day event! We played Hawaiian games, learned to Hula, took part in arts & crafts, and had a big Hawaiian feast. We also took a tour with E Noa where we ventured to the Dole Plantation, the North Shore and many other tourist spots. We ate lunch at Big Wave Shrimp and tried their famous Garlic Shrimp.
In brief: For the last couple of days of our trip, we switched resorts and stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. At this resort, they had an interactive Penguin program and a variety of pools to choose from, along with a lagoon. We took a taxi from our hotel into the city and dined at Duke's, then walked back so that we could explore the city of Honolulu.
